Kongsberg Inks Dealer Agreement with Symphotic Tii

Norway headquartered Kongsberg Maritime, through its U.S. subsidiary Kongsberg Underwater Technology Inc (KUTI, has entered into a dealer agreement with Symphotic Tii Corporation for distribution of its subsea solutions in California.

The agreement, which focuses on the provision of Kongsberg Maritime’s underwater and positioning technology, extends the availability of subsea products in the U.S., particularly for exploration and research companies based on or near the West Coast of America.

“We are excited to offer the market-leading products developed by Kongsberg Maritime and its subsidiaries,” said Jack Roberts, Operations Manager of Symphotic Tii Corporation. “Their extensive catalogue of underwater products perfectly complements our existing portfolio and we are happy to introduce it to our client base.”

Kongsberg Maritime already has a presence in North America through its KUTI subsidiary, which has eight sites spanning the U.S. and Canada. Alongside KUTI, Symphotic Tii will be working with and representing four Kongsberg Maritime divisions in California: Kongsberg Mesotech, the Camera Group, Subsea Monitoring (SuMo) and Underwater Mapping (UMAP).

Through the dealer agreement with Kongsberg Maritime, Symphotic Tii will enable easier access to a range of products covering various disciplines, from single and multibeam sonars and echosounders through to high-end underwater camera technology and subsea communication systems.

“Symphotic Tii has extensive experience in underwater technology and is highly regarded in its field so they are perfectly placed to represent our products in California and on the West Coast,” said Helge Uhlen, VP Subsea Sales, Kongsberg Maritime. “The agreement allows us access to a wider customer base and opens up our subsea product range to this important region of the U.S.”
