IEEE OES will host the 11th Current, Waves and Turbulence Measurement (CWTM) Workshop March 2-6, 2015 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The objectives of the CWTM Workshop are to provide the ocean community with a forum for technical information exchange and to promote coordination among those concerned with measuring current, waves and turbulence.

For the 2015 workshop IEEE OES is soliciting the submission of papers on topic areas that address emerging technologies or issues of timely interest to the oceanographic community, including:

  • Networking, Archiving and QA / QC
  • Manufacturer / User Collaborations
  • Current Measurement from Autonomous Vehicles
  • Innovative and Informative Visualization of Current, Waves and Turbulence Measurement

IEEE OES said it also is seeking technical papers on Current, Waves and Turbulence Measurement topics traditionally covered in previous CWTM workshops:

  • Real Time Measurement
  • Standards in Current, Waves  and Turbulence Measurement
  • Applications of Current, Waves and Turbulence Measurement
  • Waves and Turbulence Measurement
  • Measurement Platforms
  • Doppler Technologies

Deadlines:
Abstracts due:  Friday, Oct. 24, 2014
Abstract acceptance notification: Friday, Oct. 31, 2014
Final papers due: Friday, Jan. 16, 2015

Academic, industry, military and government scientists  interested in keeping abreast of the newest  information in current, waves and turbulence measurement technology are encouraged to attend. Student grants are also available.

Additionally, each afternoon will include time slots for exhibitors to offer indoor or on-water demonstrations and training. Arrangements have been made with the University of Florida to accommodate vendors’ dockside and boat needs. The USF is just a short walk from the Hilton.
