DNV GL Okays New Floating Power Generation Concept

 DNV GL has given IHI Corporation Approval in Principle (AiP) for its FLPS (Floating LNG Power Station) concept.   The formal handover of the Approval in Principle took place in Tokyo on July 5. The design has been found to comply with DNV GL class standards and other relevant industry standards.    The FLPS concept is a combination of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) and a power plant. MHI, IHI & DBJ Join Forces On Investments

  Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), IHI Corporation and the Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) concluded a three-way formal agreement today on their respective investments into a new commercial aero engine company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aero Engines, Ltd., to be launched on October 1. IHI Wins Order From Chinese Wison Group

  IHI Corporation (IHI) received an order for two “IHI-SPB” LNG tanks to be installed in the Floating LNG Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU) from Wison Group of Shanghai, China (Wison) who is known as the largest private EPC contractor in China. These two tanks will be fabricated at the IHI’s Aichi Works and delivered at Wison’s Nantong shipyard in the second half of 2015. The storage capacity of the two tanks is 25,000m3 (12,500m3 per one tank x 2 tanks), and tanks are installed into the FSRU for which Wison already received order from the Joint Venture of Exmar
