Petrobras Makes Amazon Basin Discovery
Petrobras announced the discovery of a new oil and gas accumulation in the Amazon Basin, Block AM-T-84. The discovery was made while drilling well 1-BRSA-1293-AM (ANP nomenclature), informally known as Jusante do Anebá. Well drilling reached the total depth of 2,040 meters. Preliminary well tests have confirmed the presence of light oil (API 47°) and gas in arenaceous reservoirs, extending from 1,350 meters to 1,900 meters deep. Petrobras Makes Discovery in Colombian Caribbean Waters
The Petrobras Orca–1 exploratory well (Tayrona Block) has revealed a natural gas accumulation in Colombian Caribbean deep waters, 40 km off the coast of La Guajira. This is the first discovery in the history of the deep water exploration of this region of the Caribbean. Petrobras is the operator (40%), in partnership with Ecopetrol (30%), and Repsol (30%). Well drilling ended in September, reaching 4,240 meters. The water depth is 674 meters. The natural gas accumulation was confirmed at 3,600 meters. Petrobras will continue operations as planned in order to assess the discovery.
Discovery of Gas Accumulation at Espírito Santo Basin
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras announces the discovery of new gas accumulation at Espírito Santo Basin post-salt. The discovery took place during drilling of well 3-BRSA-1259-ESS (ANP nomenclature) / 3-ESS-222 (Petrobras nomenclature), informally known as Tanganika, at a water depth of 1,043 meters, located in the Malombe Discovery Evaluation Plan (PAD), 72 km off the coast of the Espírito Santo state. UK North Sea Gas Discovery 'Significant' Say E&P
